What nobody tells you about housing near UIUC

Champaign-Urbana is the most Indian-student-dense college town in America relative to its size. Almost every landlord has rented to Indian students before and many don't require US credit β€” just a larger security deposit. The catch: good apartments near campus get signed in October for the following August. If you're coming Fall 2026, the signing window may have already started. The MTD bus system is free with your student ID and genuinely excellent β€” you do not need a car here.
