What nobody tells you about housing near ASU Tempe

Tempe is significantly more international-student-friendly than Boston. Many landlords near campus don't require US credit — 2–3 months upfront deposit instead. The real thing to know: Tempe summers hit 115°F in July. Always check if your apartment has good A/C and ask specifically about the electricity bill — it can hit $200/month in summer. Best value housing is in the University Drive to Apache Blvd corridor. Sign your lease by April for August — not in July when everyone panics.
